I don't follow either. I don't see how this statement, which applies to CMC nationwide, could possibly be interpreted as rotating around California at the expense of other regions.

I can barely believe what I'm reading in this thread!

That's a VERY harsh penalty for a group within NASA that is very friendly on and off the track. I hope the rest of our regions take heed, but don't turn into (insert other club name here) Rule Nazis and ruin the good thing we have!

from what i understand, plenty of opportunity was given to comply. in fact, i think there was too many opportunities given. Tony probably tried a little too hard to esure he was being totally fair given the rocky past this particulare racer has had. not trying to speak for Tony, and that comment has nothing to do w/ any conversations i've had w/ him (none). i think what has happened is a good thing. sets the tone across all regions and for Nationals.

i have always understood that when i'm ordered to the dyno, i'm ordered to the dyno. no "if's", "and's" or "but's". when we race in CMC, we place ourselves at the mercy of the rules just by registering.

we in TX have been doing random drawing of car numbers from a hat for dyno's for some time. we have never had an issue w/ a single driver by doing things this way.

Keith, have you been in the garage again revving the engine with the door closed?

Sounds like this action was a long time coming. Would have been interesting to see what the dyno said post-race at Mid-Ohio. There has been some conversation here in our midwestern regions about the need to have more consistent dyno inspection at the tracks, especially in AI. The greater the distance people are spread out from events, especially here in the midwest where we have cars literally from Pennsylvania to Nebraska and Minnesota to Tennessee, the more impractical it gets to seal hoods and meet the next week. Only one region that I'm aware of, Southeast, has its own dedicated dyno. Otherwise we're at the mercy of finding portable dyno operators to come to the events, and they are fairly scarce plus not cheap. But it's a cost of ensuring level competition.

Glenn,

Your dead nuts on with your comments, and yes its true we never talked about it at all,as a matter of fact no one knew anything that was going on to be fair to all.

My only fault was being too nice, too long.

Good post.

That's why the East coast guys never post on the forum. Our wives cut off our internet access when we start drinking.

In fact, where some of our guys live their wives cut off more than internet access when they're drinking. (Do you remember Manassas, VA & Lorena Bobbit)
