Pat Stone1548534713 Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Well guess what guys and girls. The wife just kicked down the money needed for the long trek to ohio. Got my right hand man Dave coming along for good luck and help with the driving. Can't wait to meet everybody. We'll be parking in the grass with the Margetta and Simpson crews. If any of you cmc'ers get there before wed. save us a spot with all the Texas and East coast guys. Does anybody know the earliest time when we can occupy the track is? If any west coasters are driving let us know and we can try to travel together or at least stay in touch and look out for each other. Team Stone/Morin Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Great news Pat! Team Gekko will also be making the trek with Julie and pit crew brother in law Gary. Quote
jeffburch Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Great news PS. Best of luck to ya. 15 cars now and counting. Who else??????????????? jb Quote
Gr8-96GT Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Hey Guys, how was it pitting on the grass last year? Are we allowed to place some plywood or anything under neath the car? Thanks. Quote
GT4Point6 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Pat You can pit as early as Monday when they open for the school/test tune days (Mon-Wed) I believe. I got there Wed AM last time and rolled right on in. ---------------------------- Charles The grass is where it's at, don't pay for the hot asphalt. Use wood under your jacks and stands and you'll be find. It's pretty firm gound and cooler than black top. I don't think very many, if any, CMC cars pitted on the black top except those that got garages ($$$$). BTW, it's real grass, not like BW grass Quote
jeffburch Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Most of the AI/CMC are pitting in our group pit on asphalt. See Covini. Trailers/RV's in the grass for sleeping. Plywood and precipatation weren't fun for us last year. Yes, very nice grass. Oats or Rye with a pea gravel base (good drainage). This area has a slight grade to it as it's a rolling hillside but flat in places. Access roads out there were bad. Crumbled, potted and narrow. jb Quote
mitchntx1548534714 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Trailers/RV's in the grass for sleeping. jb As I understand it, that isn't the plan for LAW MS. Glenn bought and paid for 2 spots ... one for the rig and one for the car. Quote
supermac Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Mitch, you are killing me with the cats! Yeah I got three spaces 1-trailer 2-camper 3-Car probably overkill I could give one up if everyone is campin in the grass. Quote
Glenn Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 sleep at the track! the weather last year was very nice. lots of partys going on and plenty of fun to be had. Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Some of us are staying at the Travelodge 419-756-7600 in Mansfield, six miles from the track. Quote

King Matt1548534716 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I'm still fixing my car from the last race, so I'm glad it's still over a week away. Just a word of advice, bring rain tires just in case! Mid-Ohio in the rain is no fun on slicks. Quote
Pat Stone1548534713 Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 Yes exhuasted that's a good word. News update. We got spooked by all that rain back there so we opted to pay to park on pavement. Nice and close to those Texas rascals so we can keep an eye on them.. Almost got everything in the trailer today. Just a little more work and we'll be on the road. Kevin did you get a spot. We're in upper paddock row C spots 14-15. Behind Steel and Simpson. Later. PS Quote
