RodeoFlyer
who's running S197's in CMC-2? i'm curious how such a heavy car is holding up on the 255 RA-1's. I'm interested in possibly running the class next year but I don't want to be the only guy out there.
FBody383
I'm interested in possibly running the class next year but I don't want to be the only guy out there. Don't want to be the only CMC2 car or only CMC2 'Stang? You won't be out there alone... maybe only several CMC2 cars, but plenty of cars to run against. Several current CMC folks have expressed interested in running CMC2 to help with car count. As a 4th gen F-body guy I can run either; if I'm as slow as I expect, I'll run whatever class the fast guys don't. Car count appears to be an interesting phenomenon, you can either have 20 cars on track or 20 folks saying as soon as more cars are on track, they'll come out. I'm working to get a car ready for 2008. You won't find a better group of guys and gals anywhere and I haven't even been on track with the group yet. I made some events, started asking questions and pulled the trigger. Besides, worst case is you'll get to race and be your region's CMC2 champ! Tony G
We had 6 CMC2 cars at Infineon a few weeks ago. Peter runs a 2005 Mustang GT and kicked major ass at Buttonwillow with the 255's..no problems at all. I ran my 2001 Mustang in CMC 2 w/255Hp,and was only 1-1.5 seconds faster than regular CMC...so there is no tire issue at all. You wont be the only guy out there, heck if you would have been at infineon we had 20CMC cars/7 CMC2 cars. The great thing about CMC and CMC2 is that we all grid as one,so the fast CMC guys actually grid ahead of the slower CMC2 cars,so its really one huge group your dealing with. Great to have you join us! Tony Guaglione CMC National Director
Members Al F.
Also keep in mind CMC-2 weights are not really new. We've had 4th gens competitively running in the high 3400 range for a long time.
