King Matt1548534716 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Next weekend is the last chance for a pre-Nationals tuneup on the Pro Course. Friday is a test-n-tune with races Sat. and Sun. Looks like the track is faster even than last year, so don't miss it. So far we have: Ferguson Petroskey Mike Bell (Is this him or just his old car?) King Others yet to sign up: Davidson Orawiec Lutsch Poe Burnett Racing Denton Quote
stevepoe Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I'll be signing up sunday afternoon.... hopefully we will get a few more looks like a decent cmc field Quote
Glenn Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 i know Mike Bells car sold to a driver in your region and Mike Bell lives in Houston. he also quit CMC just before he sold the car. Quote
rocketman Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I had a blast at this event. I first want to thank Steve Poe who made it possible for me to rent my old CMC car (albeit much improved since I last had it!) and race at this beautiful facility. I'm glad I got to do Mid-Ohio just once before I die, it was a great experience driving this famous circuit for an old wannabee like me. The learning curve was steep and I was behind most of the weekend lol. I also want to thank the OH/IN region folks who ran a great event and made a tourist/visitor like me feel welcome and who answered my dumb questions. Matt King helped me tremendously by getting me up to speed on how they do things and keeping me updated on where I was supposed to be during the weekend. The other CMC racers were clean and fast, I had nothing for the top 3 guys in a field of 6 or so cars but enjoyed every second I was out on track. Everyone I met was extremely nice and I coulnd't have asked for better weather until Sunday when the rains came with 1 min to go on grid. If you don't have a ride I recommend you consider renting a car from Steve, he works his tail off between sessions making sure your car is set and ready for the next round. I got tired watching him hustle between cars lol. Quote
Glenn Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 well Mike, i glad to see you now know a little tweeking would have went a long way to making your car run up front here in your own region. i'm a little saddened you would go out of region to race again before you would come back and race w/ us. Mid Ohio is a fun track, glad you got to experiance it. so where are you moving to next to race? Quote
rocketman Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 This was a one-time shot for me Glenn. I'm fortunate that all the stars aligned (read: the wife gave the green light lol) for me to go up there to do Mid-Ohio. What a blast of a track! Good luck up there at Nationals! Quote
CMC#11 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Mike, Glad to hear about your weekend and the great racing. That's great you got to drive the old car again. Come out to Houston the end of Oct. for the last event of the year!! Quote
