Glenn
You guys... this is really simple... they cast a part number in the exhaust manifold... '89 - '92 350 are the same... and most LB9 TPI 305 cars... received the same manifolds... the smaller ones are for the TBI cars... I would challenge anyone on here... to show two different sets of '90 and up Exhaust Manifolds... that are on a TPI car... Don't measure the outlet... write down the part #'s! If we can start to compile part #'s... I think it would be easier to chase these urban legends down! Dave i see good things coming from you being involved in CMC! good post. i have a small data base now. if anyone wants to give up part numbers, i'll add them to it. Dave Schotz
Well... I'll start then, 14094063 LH 14094064 RH The 1409 can also look like 1408... but it's a '9' I believe these are the 'higher flowing' ones. I also have this part # for the '90 - '92 Model... Don't know if these are any higher flowing... since I don't own a set... But this may be what Jeff is talking about: 10128448 But Jeff, maybe you can respond with the part #'s on your car... and compare. Also, you can still buy these two from GM... (But I don't know if one or both of these are the high flowing units) GM PART # 14094063 CATEGORY: Engine Exhaust Manifold PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00 GM LIST: $214.72 OUR PRICE: $127.29 GM PART # 10128448 CATEGORY: Engine Exhaust Manifold PACK QTY: 1 CORE CHARGE: $0.00 GM LIST: $267.08 OUR PRICE: $158.33 Peace, Dave Edited October 19, 2007 by Guest
comeback kid
I can't believe that you can't find manifols. I have 4 sets sitting in my garage. I can't believe that I haven't thrown them away. If you want a set pm me. The ones I have found in the salvage yards have been cracked. After a couple of phone calls the problem is solved. Thanks guys. I still have not gotten over to my In-Laws for the digital camera. Maybe Sat. Then I can get the pics done and onto the FFRAX and NASA MB. I should be able to get enough to get the few new parts I need. Then it will be a GO! I do have enough spare parts to build another car if someone knows a person looking to get in. C4RACER
some interesting reading here on the subject including some PN's: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/exhaust/14501-305-exhaust-system.html?highlight=91+g92+exhaust I just picked up a pair of manifolds from a 88 LB9 car and they are the 14094063/4 PN's. Den341548534727
Sorry guys and gals...should have done my homework before writing my previous post but the result is the same. I removed the 14094063 LH amd 14094064 rh manifolds which I thought from memory where 2 inch outlet but are actually 2 1/8. These may be considered by some to be 2.25 because this is the size pipe that is used at the muffler shop. I replaced those manifolds with 14094047 and 14094048. I am only 95% confident in these last two part numbers because they are very difficult to read. These manofolds have a actual outlet of 1 7/8 but again may be considered by some to be the 2inch manifolds due to the pipe size. When I swapped these out it made no difference on the dyno. Take it for what it is worth, your milage may vary.
roadracerwhite
The ones I have found in the salvage yards have been cracked. After a couple of phone calls the problem is solved. Thanks guys. Glad to hear that you found some. Hope to see you next year!
jeffburch
Mine are the 14094064/14094063. Still would like another set but not at retail. jb
cmc38camaro
Has anyone looked at the Dorman aftermarket replacements for 14094063/01409464? They are PN 674-518 & 674-519 and retail for $80 each. Like another thread said; the Chinese are making everything these days. Mike
King Matt1548534716
If you go with the Chinese repops, be careful and examine them closely, especially the port openings. I got a flyer the other day from Brzezinski Racing Products talking about these, and the photos showed that some of the replacement manifolds coming from China are absolutely horrendous garbage. The ports were core-shifted and about half the size of the stock opening.
powerslide91
So if I can just find a set that is core shifted to 1.5 times the stock opening
Dave Schotz
Jeff, you can still get one of the manifolds new from GM... And maybe you could ask the dealer to do a nation wide search on the other... and see if any dealer has them lying around. Peace, Dave
