MHISSTC Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Since one of the items listed as being checked at Nationals were the marker lights, I wanted to make sure I'm doing this correctly on the car we're building. What exactly was checked? The CMC rules state "OEM light assemblies may be replaced with facsimiles, plates or covers as long as these maintain the stock external appearance. Replacements for recessed lights must also be recessed. Front turn signals and fog lights may be removed". On a '85-'86 Mustang, am I O.K. removing the front turn signal light assemblies located in the front of the bumper cover and replacing them with a brake cooling duct intake? Quote
King Matt1548534716 Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Yes, you can do that. The rule is intended to disallow covering headlight and other openings in such a way as to create an "aerodynamic advantage." Quote
MHISSTC Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 Thanks for the response. I thought I was doing something acceptable, but just wanted to make sure. I'm staying out of any "aerodynamic advantage" ('87-'93 Mustang) discussion. Quote
King Matt1548534716 Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Yeah, it's better to avoid that subject--cough, 3rd gen Firebird, cough--altogether. Quote
