stevepoe Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 So I have a question . The new camaro comming out. will it be allowed to run in cmc-2? and if it's a body in white car can it run the older camaro drivetrain or will it have to run whatever engine that is comes with? Quote
Glenn Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 if it was allowed, i'm pretty sure it will not fall under the 3rd gen platform model grouping or the 4th gen platform model grouping. the new car will not share anything chassis wise w/ the 4th gen or 3rd gen. it will have the same family engine as the later 4th gens, but there is not alot of parts that are shared between the engines. i would also say no to the later drivetrain again cause i tried it w/ the 4th gen. i wanted to run a TPI and a 5 speed in mine. i got a big "hell no" on that one. mitchntx1548534714 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Sorta on topic ... Wouldn't it be a kick to see a series rise up that had Dodge Challenger Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro? New Melinium Trans AM racing ... Quote
Glenn Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 i think that new Miller/Ford racing series is heading that way. Quote

Pretty much what I was figured. So pretty much a body in white camaro will really only have a home in AI/AIX Quote
Glenn Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 a body in white is not prohibited. the year your asking about is not in production yet, so its not in the rules. the production has been put off till 2010 from what i hear. Quote
Members Al F. Posted November 14, 2007 Members Posted November 14, 2007 Once we have complete specs on the production 5th gen we'll figure out what to do to let it have a home, just like we did with the S197 mustang. It will likely be treated exactly like the other generation changes have been. Quote
