cmc35 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I'm planning to install a 3.73:1 differential in my '94 SN95 this winter. Rule 8.32.2 seems fairly clear - use anything that fits in the stock differential housing - but better safe than sorry: is my reading of this rule correct? Also, any suggestions for a particular 3.73? thanks, chris Quote
tacovini Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Correctamundo, Chris. Pick a gear. Any gear. Quote
GT4Point6 Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I've always heard good things about the FMS 3.73. The mechanic who built my axle says they fit the best and are a little easier to set up. Quote
Holster Maker Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I'm with Kevin, would recommend FMS or Motive Gear. BTW, Motive Gear makes the FMS gears. Quote
Tony G Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Hey Chris, Give me a call,as I think I have a set of 3.73's that will work perfect for you. Thanks, Tony Guaglione 916 933-5750 Quote
cmc35 Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 Tony - will do. Mike, Kevin and Todd - appreciate the help, thanks. -chris Quote
nasa-rm Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I heard the FMS sets give the best fit without a lot of tweaking. Quote
TurboShortBus Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 If you can't get an FRPP 3.73 gearset, then get an FRPP 3.73 gearset. If you know what I mean. Use Ford crush washers and shims, too. Mark Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 While you're in there, rebuild your t-lok ( if you still have it ) with the later FRPP carbon fibre setup. We put it in my car last year, and it seems to hold up longer then the regular rebuild kit. About a ~$100. Quote

mcmmotorsports1548534724 Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 I have a set of Motive gears in my '04 GT and haven't had any problems with those. I have heard that FRPP gears are the best for setting up without a lot of work. Quote
HMark Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Use Ford crush washers and shims, too. Mark Why would you ever use a crush sleeve?? http://ratech.stores.yahoo.net/solidspacers.html Ratech also cuts their own shims. They are very good quality. -Don Quote
