ThunderHill to Dallas 25 Hours...

So,

That is the net/net: It took about 250 gallons of Gas, two tires and a set of brakes to drive Keitth Drake's cars 1710 miles in 25 hours.

And lets get this straight...If it weren't for Keith offering his car for this adventure, none of this would have happened.

Don, Rich and John: The car was perfect...I mean perfect. It was BETTER on in the 23rd hour than it was for the first 25 laps. Don and Rich: You had your hands full all 25 hours with the two other cars..But they all finished..Huge props to you guys..

John and Gary: Never crew chief again unless you get paid BIG bucks..That is how good you guys were..Anyone who is reading this post, and I swear to God, these two ran the pit stops and race plan as close to perfection as possible, and were there EVERY MINUTE including one of the coldest nights I have ever endured. If anyone every needs leadership in crew, John and Gary were complete studs..Your dedication can not be overstated.

Seriously..The driving was a joke..It was SO easy..That is how good the car was. If anyone every needs Enduro drivers, Chris, Nick, Jason and Kirk will do whatever it takes to get it done..EVERYONE drove the car exactly how it needed to be driven to achieve what we did..No one lost a lap, not a single infraction, etc.

We had a race plan, and it literally worked exaclty to plan...I am not sure if a CMC car will ever beat that lap count in 25 hours...

Any bets?

P.S. I challenge Keith to only put new oil in the car, and run it in the next CMC race..Dont even wash it..I will guarantee it will podium!

Any bets?

Brady

Dude, I could drive that many miles in 25hrs in my street car, and not even risk getting a ticket!! j/k I think its tremendous that you guys pulled this off. The bar has been set, there's gonna be more CMC 25hr challengers to come break that record.

Here in Tx we're gearing up for the first ever enduro in the region, around 6-8hrs (still being discussed). I cant wait to participate in that one.

Brady...How many laps did the #44 actually run,(somewhere around 597?). I think it was very close to the # of laps last year's winning car ran,(about 619?).

Now some will argue the ENDURO CMC Championship as viewed on the MYLAPS site from our 3 hour enuro a couple of years ago, you know who you are, you need to just let go and accept your finsih............ Back to the topic...

I was joking about putting Brady in the seat first. We know him as a great driver and he knows how to race a sprint race as well as an enduro.

Great job by all for taking care of the car while driving as well as the great pit work required to accomplish this great finish!

I would like to see at some point, the prep done to set the car up for then enduro. Lights, brakes, coolers, beer, huummmm I mean driver/crew comfort Get your rest first, you need it. Then fire out some details on the car.

Thanks,

yeah, we had them, but the high was in the low 50's and the low was 20 degrees..the car never got over 170..water or oil..

we never turned them on...and again..our challenge was using all of the track, no brakes, and being as easy as humanly possible..

No coolers this year, although the rear end cooler was hooked up we did not use it. Lights are real simple, just put larger square tubing in car straight up between headlights, make light rack of smaller tubing. We use 4 off road light s straight across. Wire them to one plug (removeable). Drill two 1/4" holes in bars when together and use two 1/4"by 20 bolts and nuts. The light bar gives you six lights counting the normal headlights, and only takes about thirty to fourtyfive seconds to remove or install. Also make all your switches with led's wired to them so you can tell they're on at night.

Kudos to you guys!!!

You've really set the benchmark for CMC endurance racing!

I'm trying to find my notes from the 2000 12 hours of Thunderhill we did in my car. I believe we completed ~300 laps, but after 12 hours my CMC roadster was thoroughly worn out and definately wasn't up for another 12. We crossed the finish line it was bent pushrods, busted swaybar end links and corded tires!

Unbelieveable that you did so much with so little tires, brakes, worn parts!!! Nice job!

PS- 1H07 we had every intention of bringing a Texas CMC 25 Team...but it just wasn't in the cards. Hopefully next year we can bring it on!!!

12 hours? Sounds more like 1 session at TWS with you driving.
