Tony G Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 April 12/13th 2008 The next West Coast race is at the famous Infineon track and we expect the usual perfect weather like we had at Thunderhill a few weeks ago. Check out the paddock map as CMC has its own spaces waiting for us. Also we willhave our own impound and scales setup at Larry's trailer. Redline,Carbotech, and Toyo Tires once again will sponsor our races. 3 points races as usual. Come and get your Redline and Carbotech stickers, if you don't have them on your car you can't collect the $$$. A great crowd of CMCrs is expected as I have talked to most of you already and will post the entry list in a week or so. We will be going over a few thing that have come up in a open forum this weekend. I'll update you soon, See you there, Tony Guaglione CMC National Director Quote

doug1548534725 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 What's with all the non-inverted? That's my only chance Quote
GT4Point6 Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 What's with all the non-inverted? That's my only chance Most series only race two races a weekend. We do the inverted to change things up. Sponsors like Toyo who pay mulitple series like to standarize the payout to keep if fare from series to series. Carbotech and Redline followed that setup. Tony G Posted March 26, 2008 Author Posted March 26, 2008 Hi Kevin, Hope you are doing well! The $30 ones will be random and we forgot to do it at T-Hill so we will do it at Infineon..drawing out of a hat for those who were there. Thanks, Tony Guaglione Quote
Redding CMCer Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I volunteer...For the $30.00...not to pull the name out of the hat......Just kidding. See everyone at Infinipoint. Gary (if I somehow get the $30.00...does that make me a "Professional racer????). JK again! Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 We have our own space set aside (CMC/AI/FFR/SU) on the paddock map, south paddock, next to pre-grid! Cool, thanks Tony! Quote

Gary (if I somehow get the $30.00...does that make me a "Professional racer????). JK again! Gary was hoping for a random Redline $30 drawing to replace the oil he left at T-hill Quote
bsim Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 HEY! I didn't think a sense of humor was allowed in the middle east! No wonder they hate us - oil wasters that we are... Quote
Redding CMCer Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Kevin, I probably left enough oil at Thunderhill to run that little boat you're sailing on for about a month!!! When they repave the track later this year they won't need to use any more oil...just the rock!!! (self deprecating humor here). It WILL be fixed by Infineon...hopefully. We're going to miss you at Infineon Kevin. Gary Quote

Gary Actually - I think at least half of that oil ended up on the #82 Camaro...... :-/ Most of it is still on there - although I did tow it in the rain last month, so maybe some has washed away - and I did clean the window. I will be there for the fun at Sears. For some reason I thought it was this weekend, but I am actually glad I have one more week. I just got back from vacation and I have a lot of stuff to catch up on - work, household chores, finishing some car prep (of course), and not to mention I need to get going on my taxes!! Ugh!! Redding CMCer Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Well, Scott, I'm glad someone took some of it home with them! If you could, please scrape some off and bring it to Infineon...I'll put it back in...It was brand new!!! Gary Quote
C4RACER Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 It ain't new no mo!! I look forward to running with you around Sears Gary. Although I only have 2 days under my belt at that track, so I might be slow. Well - I guess that was two more days than I had around LLIHREDNUHT..... (I think that spells Thunderhill backwards....) heh.. Scott Quote

doug1548534725 Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks everyone for a great weekend! Had an awesome time at the back of the pack battling it out with Scott while he tried to follow a point by for another class around me, and at the front trying to not get run over in the inverted race. Thanks Tony, Mike, Nick, and Larry for getting me straightened out and on track, I've got a lot of work to do before Buttonwillow. Hoping to see Plum's footage of him saying hi to me in the esses and Julie's footage of me defending my spot from the wrong class Sorry again about that! You may have also caught my spin in the hairpin, I'm still not sure what happened there. Quote
Tony G Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Had a blast with everyone out there! Lots of new blood coming in which is great to see. Working on the race report, as both Kyle and Julie are now doing the write ups. Buttonwillow less than 2 weeks Tony Guaglione Quote
Redding CMCer Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 What a great weekend of racing. I had a blast and from the looks of it most everyone else did too. I do think Margetta can come home now since my car is not leaking as much oil now. Glad that is fixed. Probably won't be at Buttonwillow or Willow but I am looking forward to June and Infineon again. If it is half as fun as last weekend it will be awesome. See you all then. Gary Quote
C4RACER Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Like Gary my next event will most likely be Infineon in June. Tough to get 2 weekend passes in one month!! I had a blast out there too - this is a great group to run with - I am very happy to be associated with CMC and I look forward to racing with you guys. Doug and I had a serious blast battling for DFL and next to DFL on Sunday - we were nose to tail pretty much all race. I was faster thru 1, the carousel, and T10, but Doug has more power and gearing than me so I could not turn those advantages into a pass. Until he pushed wide in T11 coming into the white flag lap. I got a good run up the inside and used my extra speed through 1 to close the door on him through 2. And despite a 4-wheel off in T4 I stayed ahead through the carousel too and used my speed to gain a lead coming into T7. So there was NO reason for me to go in too hot and push - I should have taken a nice slow defensive inside line and I would have walked away with the #9 position because he would not have caught me through the esses and T10. But alas - the tires were going away big-time, and I made the mistake of going in too hot and ended up pushing waaaay wide and Doug took advantage and slipped inside underneath me. I almost pushed the issue going into the esses but realized that was low chance of success, high chance of contact, so I figured I would make one last run through 10 and try to catch him under braking thru T11. Well - Doug did a nice job with a defensive inside line in 11 and took that chance away from me and we ended up finishing nose to bumper accross the line with him in front. What a blast!! So that is why this group is so good - we can have just as much fun battling for 9th as the guys running for podium spots. Well done Doug. But don't count on that gift next time Scott #82 CMC Quote
