Some of this comes straight out of the rules other bits are agreed to practices. The racing dropping policy needs to be updated for 2009 to match the West Coast schedule announcement. Championship Points First place is awarded 100 points. Second place is awarded 97 points. Third place is awarded 95 points. Fourth place is awarded 93 points. Fifth place is awarded 92 points. Each successive place is awarded one less point Finishing points are awarded to each car starting the race regardless of the number of laps completed The dropping of one race will be enabled after completion of each increment of 5. If the remaining race count rounds to 1, the final race of the season will also enable a drop. Rookie Points To be considered a Rookie a competitor must participated in two or fewer road racing events in prior years Rookie points are identical to Championship points except for the % of throw-outs allowed. The dropping of one race will be enabled after completion of each increment of 3. If the remaining race count rounds to 1, the final race of the season will also enable a drop. Pole Points A single point is awarded for achieving pole position based on time. No pole points are awarded for being on pole in an inverted race. Pole points are added to the season total, not to the individual race total Toyo Bucks Toyo Bucks are awarded for non-inverted start races only. First place is awarded $150, Second $100, third $75, Fourth $50 and Fifth $25. Season Championship is awarded $1000, Second $500 and Third $250 Probation Drivers must start the specified number of races before probation is lifted. Both inverted and non-inverted starts count against the specified number Suspension Races missed due to suspension will result in 0 points, will be indicated by SUS and cannot be thrown out. Disqualification Races ending in disqualification will result in 0 points, will be indicated by DQ and cannot be thrown out. Fun Run Two fun run weekends are allowed by the rules Fun run races will be scored as 0 points, will be indicated by FR and cannot be thrown out. Fun run races are considered agreed to disqualifications. Inverted Grid Pole will be award to lowest placing driver that took the green flag and completed all laps Followed by the next higher (better) placing driver who took green and completed all laps Followed by those who did not take the green or finish all laps, gridded by finishing positions (non-inverted) Followed by driver switches who will be gridded by order of finish Followed by new participant gridded by registration order Followed by penalized drivers gridded in order of finish Followed by those choosing to go to the back Sent to the Back (qualifying) Various situations can get you sent to the back of the pack Grid will be set in the following order: clean qualifying times, driver change, missed qualifying, infractions, driver's choice. If multiple team change drivers, position will be based on qualifying time If multiple competitors miss qualifying, position will be based on championship points If multiple infractions occur, position will be based on qualifying time Sent to the Back (racing) Various infractions can get you sent to the back of the pack All racers moved to the back will be awarded last place (effectively a tie for last) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Adam Ginsberg Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Additionally, for those racing in CMC2 in SoCal - to help make it easier to identify CMC1 cars from CMC2 cars while racing, we'd like to see a "2" on the windshield and on the back window. We did it at the 2007 Nats, and it was valuable for folks who weren't sure 100% who was in each class. There's no size requirement....just something large enough to be visible.
