cmc35
Hello, Some of the regions may have already heard about this idea, but we want to be sure to include everyone...or at least everyone who reads this forum. In 2008, there was not a video for the CMC National race. This was because no sponsor stepped forward. Given that CMC is a racing series which stresses OEM components, this is understandable. The cost for this video is $3,000. The CMC Directors believe a professional video of the National final race can be a great marketing tool for our series, plus a lot of fun for the drivers who are there AND their racing buddies back home. We have discussed a few funding ideas, but in the end, we all believe that our CMC members should only participate if they really want to; we should not impose a fee, no matter how small or large. So we are setting up a contribution fund, and asking you to send what you think appropriate. Please, don't start bombing the forum with things like "we shouldn't have to pay for this!", or "why should I care?", etc. If you don't want to contribute, don't; it's kind of like American Idol - if you think it's stupid, don't watch. And by the way, there were some series who did this very thing to get a video at the 2008 Nats, so there is precedent. So you know, between 3 of the Directors, we have $800 pledged. If each CMCer sends $10, we can cover the full $3k. A thread has been created in the "Event Specific" category, to collect comments. Details about making pledges / contributions will be shared in the reasonable future. thanks your CMC Directors
