GT4Point6 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 It's official and I'm sure we can "vote" on it and it will be unanimous. Kyle Plum is no longer allowed to miss any Cal region race. Period. The grid for Sat Race was a liquid cluster F to put it nicely. If Kyle would have been there, I would have been smooth as it usually is. Not just CMC either, FFR was jacked up. Two guys running grid, not enough room, not enough cones, cones out of order, starting line up out of order.... Sun got better after Ryan got involved. So the official CMC race director or Mike Plum, who ever is officiating CMC, must pay for Kyles trip and all expenses to ensure the CMC/FFR/AI groups get the GREAT attention, easy line ups and radio comms. Oh, that would have been nice this weekend too... Kyle, you have made yourself an INVALUABLE asset to CMC! Great racing at Cal speedway this weekend and I don't want to give anything away that might come out in the race report over the next month sometime. Lady in Nomex Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 That's a nice birthday present for Kyle today, Happy Birthday!!!! Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Sheesh, it's not even 24hrs after the event, and Kevin is already pinging for the race writeup. Sunday's grid was a hundred times better once a few of the Series Directors spoke to Ryan and Rob (RD). Some good racing in both CMC and CMC2, and a damn good BBQ on Saturday evening. Race writeup is underway! Quote
Dave Schotz Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Good BBQ... Good Racing... and Improved Grid on Sunday! It was a great time! Congrats to all! Dave Quote
Members Al F. Posted August 3, 2009 Members Posted August 3, 2009 So what was the source of the problem? Quote
Dave Schotz Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) Honestly... i think the grid was not thought out well enough for the 50+ cars... they made a change to grid the first 40 in the standard area, and the remaining 10+ or so... just before the tunnell area... and it went very smoothly! Peace, Dave (edit... I noticed I missed a key word here) I meant to say... Saturday...the grid wasn't thought out well enough... Sunday... they did. Edited August 3, 2009 by Guest Quote

Peace, Dave I agree Dave, for Sunday only. Sat had me on the pole in spot 39, Adam starting second in spot 36, FFRs who was to be in front of CMC and behind CMC2 in spots 40-4?. Odd angles for parking, parking and then moving those of use put in the fire lane, that's enough to make the point I think... Quote
Members Al F. Posted August 4, 2009 Members Posted August 4, 2009 I seem to recall you guys having issues gridding recently. Who makes the grid sheet? Meaning, who translates the qual results into grid positions so the folks on grid know where to park people? Quote
Tony G Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Remember this is only a S. Calif problem. In N Calif we never have any issues...and we have 3 races per weekend! Quote
brady Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 how would Tony know?...is only comes to SCA to vacation... Quote
