nasa-rm Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 What CMC'ers did I spy at 25 hour? Moi. ReddingCMC'er Kirk Theis Brady F Dave Brown Who else was hanging out or driving? Man - what a great weekend. Quote
Redding CMCer Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 The #41 Miata was driven by Kirk Theis, Jeremy Bua, NASA exec. Ryan Flaherty and Mr. "Set-up" Brady Flaherty. Crew included CMCer Gary Brantley, (it was nice to meet you Dave. Good to put a face to a name), Jaret Brantley, Jeremy and Ken. It truly was a marathon with temps dipping down to 20 degrees Sunday morning, (sunny California?). Well it was sunny but we are are not used to those kinds of temps. The 41 teamed up with another team this year. Unfortunately our team mate's car suffered a hard hit to the front fender and was behind the pit wall for an extended time essentially putting their car out of contention. Despite some mechanical problems the 41 managed to hold on for 4th place in the E2 class and 21st overall. All with being one of the slowest cars in the field. A very special thank you has to go to Nikki Bua for doing an amazing job of feeding all of us the whole weekend. Needless to say she went far beyond anything we expected and all the food was delicious. ( I think I gained 10 lbs.). Thanks also to Brady and Kirk for letting me take part again. I am already getting excited about the 2010 25 hrs of T'hill. Gary (Redding CMCer) Quote
nasa-rm Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 (it was nice to meet you Dave. Good to put a face to a name) Unfortunately the only reason you did meet me is because I was down in your pit waiting for the car to come in so I could look at the body damage on it from the earlier sideswipe contact . Redding CMCer Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Dave...there certainly a lot of carnage out there! How did your team do? Quote
nasa-rm Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Dave...there certainly a lot of carnage out there! How did your team do? Since my team was Dave, Tammi, Jeff, Clifton, Gary and myself as Race Directors - I'd say we did a fantastic job with the body contacts. I'm doing a good job if I can mingle among the teams and they don't even know I'm working on assigning penalties!!! Quote
JermBua Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Gary, the iron man fueler. I can't believe you did the fuel on every pit stop. That was awesome. Thanks for all the help. Your son Jaret (hope thats right) was alot of help too. I think he was up the whole time . Quote
harleydave Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I was there in a stock and very, very slow mazda RX7. First time we ever put it on the track was Friday, but had a great time, finished 38th overall, 8th in class. Quote
Redding CMCer Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Actually I think I may have left one of our crew members out of the above post. Since I am an old goat I can't think of his name. Maybe you can help me remember Jeremy. He deserves recognition as well for his effort. Quote
JermBua Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) The Crew: Jeremy Powell, Justin Morgan, Gardiner Kemsley, Gary Brantley, Jaret Brantley, Nikki Bua, Ken Stanley, and Darryl Seifert. All were a great help. Thanks every one. Edited December 9, 2009 by Guest Quote
Lady in Nomex Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Next time post up you are running before the race like in years past. I thought no CMCers except one was out there so I didn't go. Would have like to have seen you guys! Quote
brady Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 the crew was amazing..our fastest time would have qualified us deep in the 50th position or so..If you look at the final results, we were the only car in the top 25 over a best time of 2:06.. (we were actually a 2:09..that slow ) Gardiner and Brantleys absolutely ran the show, and the new guys Jeremy brought just simply kicked ass...The crew could not have done a better job and that is the reason why we finished so well.. Can't thank them enough..that was our competitive advantage.. ....Just think if we had a fast car Quote
