Members Al F. Posted January 1, 2010 Members Posted January 1, 2010 Its 2010 and the racing season is almost here. Is your car ready? Are you ready?? Quote
Glenn Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I killed a 750mltr bottle of Makers Mark on your behalf. I'm ready.... Quote
AllZWay Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Happy New Year.... The car is close.... Some paint & body work is done and brake ducts installed. Now just need a few stickers and shocks. Quote
08rampage Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I'm new here and currently building an 89 mustang for cmc. I'm hoping to have it finished and on the track so I can get my competition license soon. I look foreward to competing with everybody in the 2011 season. Quote
Members Al F. Posted January 2, 2010 Author Members Posted January 2, 2010 Welcome aboard!!! Make sure you get in touch with Adam Ginsberg, Cal region director. He's got a fox body mustang as well, so I'm sure you guys will have plenty to talk about. Quote
mysticz Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Thanks for the welcome. Ill have to get in touch with him sometime for sure. I've already been picking buas brain a bit. Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 J morgan and Jmorgan - feel free to contact me to discuss your build(s). After the final race @ BW in Nov, my hooptie has been waiting ever so patiently for some TLC. Over the next few weeks, it will get that TLC, plus I have to get my new (to me) trailer all sorted out. The goal is to make the SPIR race in Feb. Quote
NickS Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Mine's in pieces in the garage at home - but it'll be ready for the first race! Quote
camaro_1le Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 My 305 is out and sold (24 hours on CraigsList) and wiring pulled. Rewiring of the car starts this week. The LT1 should be ready by late this month. Plans call for NASA-SE at Carolina Motorsports Park in mid-February and then the NASA Mid-Atlantic season opener the following weekend at VIR. Quote

Whatever....... you're probably drinking too much bourbon over the holidays......it's wishful thinking that you will make either CMP or VIR. I have a better shot at getting my CMC2 Super car done than you do getting the LT1 locked and loaded into old Barney. (The super car will make the March VIR event......I will drive the old 200hp CMC car in CMC2 for points) Topdawg Quote

At least you're guaranteed a top 4 finish "up" there since you would make the 4th car in the AI field. BTW, I will call you back tomorrow. Quote
mysticz Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 oops, I forgot I have a differnt screen name for my computer and my blackberry. LOL Quote
Members Al F. Posted January 5, 2010 Author Members Posted January 5, 2010 That kicks ass Gary. My garage would be that clean in a virtual world too! Quote
AllZWay Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I'm ready. The car is virtually ready... That is great Gary. I bet you virtually win every race with this car this year too. Quote
FBody383 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 The car is virtually ready... I'm protesting... the bends in the A-pillar bars aren't at least 3X the tubing radius. And you might need that spare door Quote
roadracerwhite Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Spare door envy? What does that spare door fit anyway, a 944? that sure isn't one for an f-body Quote
FBody383 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Spare door envy? Don't make me tell everybody that the original window sticker was still on the passenger door glass of that convertible door you "sold" me. Quote
Members Al F. Posted January 8, 2010 Author Members Posted January 8, 2010 It was not, really?? Quote
FBody383 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 It was not, really?? Could I make that up? Quote
Shortcutsleeping1548534716 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 What does that spare door fit anyway, a 944? that sure isn't one for an f-body Door fits this: It was the one on his side of the car for many many miles... Costas cars and such... Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I thought all Chevy Monza's rusted into oblivion, except for the cool-assed road racing versions: Quote
Alien Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 "I didn't know Chevy made Mazdas..." - random guy in Paris, Tx That door is now wall art. Havn't added the decals to the computer model version yet. Also have the quarter "window" wik our names on it hanging up too. And Al, while the garage may be virtually clean, it still does't help get the other projects done any faster! Quote
