I had been posting over on the NASA forum page under the Midwest section for the last few months, but had not gotten onto this page till last night.

I am in central Illinois and have been friends with the Firebird Gang (Bob, Sidney and Bryan) for about 15+ years (hard to believe it's been that long).

I started in MW Council doing TT events at Blackhawk in 1994 in 1999 went to W2W racing, at the time running in ITGT, during winter 1999 I was in contact with some of the west coast CMC guys as we put into plan a class just for V-8 American cars in MW Council that class became American Grand Sport which I ran until I moved to Alabama at which point I stopped racing.

Meanwhile all my friends left MW Council and went to NASA and transistioned into CMC.

I moved back to Illinois in 2007 and got the racing bug again, this winter I have been converting my 1985 Mustang GT into a CMC car (yes finally another Mustang to run with those Pontiac's).

Other than some dated material needing to be changed out (seat belt, fuel cell, window net, etc) I also needed to change the cam, carb, intake, headers, ignition system, and some suspension parts.

I am really looking forward to getting back on track!!!

Thanks for the warm welcomes.

I don't know if I will be able to make Hallet this year.

The guys did tell me about the race weekend there from this year and it sounds awsome, however funds will be my limiting factor this year, I am just trying to get in three weekends, and if things are going well, maybe a fourth.

Perhaps next year

I understand, we've all had our first year...its the toughest by far on the finances. But...going to Hallett is free: just hitch a ride with someone else and come for Balingit's food and the craziness of the whole weekend. You can always race there next year

Second year guy talking now - in your shoes as a rookie last year.

You gotta come to Hallett; last year even with a burnt ignition coil, bad setup, wrong tires (except Sunday qual ) and bad wiring splice, it was ABSOLUTELY worth the weekend.
