rob_h Posted July 16, 2019 Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) Hi, Asking for a friend... Looking for clarification on Enduro Rule 4.4: "4.4 Air Jacks / jacking systems The use of any device other than a manual jack(s) or a manually operated hydraulic jack to raise the vehicle is prohibited in E0, E1, E2, E3 and E3S classes. Also note that any vehicles in E0, E1, E2, E3, or E3S that has one of these jacking systems, whether used or not, are likely in violation of their regular class rules." I've always assumed this restriction was specific to the pit-lane during the race and most likely to impact tire changes. Is that the case? Otherwise the use of a trailer lift, Quick Jack, scissor lift, etc. would be illegal in the paddock? Are lifting devices free in the paddock even during the race? I propose that these be aligned with the 25 hour supplement: "4.4 Air Jacks / jacking systems The use of any device other than a manual jack(s) or a manually operated hydraulic jack to raise the vehicle in the pit lane is prohibited in E0, E1, E2, E3 and E3S classes. Also note that any vehicles in E0, E1, E2, E3, or E3S that has one of these jacking systems, whether used or not, are likely in violation of their regular class rules." Allardk3 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Any thoughts on the rule clarification? Asking for Rob.... Quote
DavidSinger Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 (edited) In the TREC rules, the jack restrictions are only listed in section: 14. Refueling / Pit Stops / Pit Lane It appears the TREC has addressed this issue, setting a trend? I also see the proposed rules in https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EeVct1Z-aG8yZ_mUsu7T6z0Fcdb1phFs/view 5.8 restricts jack use specifically in Pitlane.
