Piersin
Anyone have a quick how-to on the install?
racerjon1
Depends on what kind of transponder it is, and what kind of car it is... For my Formula Car, i had to hard wire it, for the Neon I just "plugged" it into the ABS fuse spot under the hood.. no ABS, so it just works as a car-on "hot" Jon K http://www.racerjon.com
heeltoer
If your transponder is the 260X rechargable version you will want to bring some zip ties (the long kind) with you to the track (also something to cut them afterwards). The best mount point is usually the front grill. Make sure the transponder is pointed in the right direction ( the light should be facing up) and that there is clear ground or there are no more than two layers of body panel form transponder to ground. Generally plastic bits of the grill should be avoided, look for some kind of metal support to install the transponder bracket to. Other than that its pretty much guess and check, note that in NASA TT the first session does not count, so you can always use that session to test out the transponder.
