Hello all, I want to race... where do I start?

Hello,

I just found out about this group today and it looks very promising! I want to participate in some of the events in my area, mainly Mid-Ohio track.

Anyway, I am looking though the site and just had some questions... basically, where do I start? What do I need/ need to sign up for in order to participate in the first event in April? I saw something about needing a NASA license... do I need my own helmet (what rating of strength?)? I don't have any racing licenses, per-say, but I have done some AutoXing as well as taken the performance driving schools at mid-Ohio, including the lapping program... so I know my way around the track.

How long do these events last/ what is the typical day schedule look like? Odds are I will be driving either my modified 99 Eclipse, or my Evo... what class would I be in?

Anyway, sorry for all the questions... I am surfing the site a lot and these just came up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
