///mracer Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I just did the VIR event last week and know that the comp. school was offered at that event. Is the comp. school available at every event or is it a once a year deal? Thanks, Matt M-A region Quote
Frank Corkran Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I think it's offered at both VIR events, plus Comp Eval is offerred at most of the other MA events (including Summit Point). Classroom plus drills in the instructor group, final exam is the Sunday points race if you're approved. Quote
Members Jim P. Posted February 23, 2006 Members Posted February 23, 2006 We offer the Comp Eval School at all of our events and a Full Competition strategy school at the Rockingham events. Quote
JoeLee Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 NASA NE will also be hosting Comp Schools this year at Watkins Glen in May and at Pocono in August. http://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_event/list_events Quote
Frank Corkran Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 If someone does Comp Eval/School in a particular region, don't they have to complete the 4 provisional races within that region before racing in another region? Of course, the Pocono races might be pretty convenient for someone in York, PA. Quote
Members Jim P. Posted February 24, 2006 Members Posted February 24, 2006 Most of the regions accept each other's provisional licensees to allow a racer to complete the requirements in a timely fashion. YMMV - You might want to check with your regional director before you go for your license. Quote
///mracer Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 thanks for the info. All I have to do now is complete the cage Quote

JoeLee Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 The Comp School weekend at Pocono will be on the South Course - we will have other events at Pocono on the other courses. Quote
DanElam Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Frank, we already reviewed that for something with our series and the bottom line is that the regional directors for Northeast, MidAtlantic, MidWest, Ohio/Indiana, and Southeast agreed that a provisional license in one region would be honored in the other. I think they were going to talk to Florida, but didn't get around to it. Quote
Frank Corkran Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Thanks, Dan. That's good news, plus makes it a lot easier for a rookie to meet Nationals eligibility. May have to take a second look at the vacation schedule. Quote
