EBC Yellow Stuff Good Or Bad?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about getting the EBC yellow stuff for my 06 WRX to run HPDE. Has anyone used these pads? Are they any good? I would appreciate any feedback, fact or opinion. Thanks.

I am running EBC Yellow and really like them. Have stock rotors and calipers to stay in class and have had brake fade with OEM pads. They do need heat in them to work best. Have not had any fade since. They are gentle on rotors and run clean.

I would not recommend running them on a street driven car. They are a little too cool of a pad for the street - they were designed as a race pad.

I've tried them, but they are kinda low quality compared to some carbotech panthers or some other pads out there.

i recommend carbotech to anybody and everybody. for my honda and level of prep, i have been very pleased compared to other pads/compounds over the years.

Carbotech will ask you questions regarding how much prep your car has, what tires you run, if you have cooling, etc.

pads are part of the overall braking "system" for your car. i would never buy pad x cause someone on the net says they are good without knowing what else they have done to the car. too many variables.

i have never used EBC and do not mean to imply it is not good, but if you want to use them, call them and talk to them about your specific application rather than just go on-line and put it the shopping cart.
