LStillman Posted November 19, 2022 Share Posted November 19, 2022 Since we are getting the ability to take a modifier hit for a larger splitter in ST4, then what's the point of having a 1" airdam requirement, in addition to the modifier? Previous reasoning is for ease of measurement for splitters since we had a cap at 4". If allowing up to 6" now with a Modifier there wouldn't be a need for a an easy way to measure since past that range has significant drag implications and doesn't necessarily offer a performance advantage due to massively increased drag, NASA even says "The useful length is 4 to 5 inches." (Link below).
