Motion 3
Hey all. I'm putting a 00 Civic type R B16B engine& tranny into my 89 hatch. I have all the brackets, axles etc... covered. My question is wiring. If you currently are running a similar combo, please give me a heads up on what you did for wiring. I have the complete harness as well as the ECU from the type R engine. Don't tell me to contact Hasport because they gave me the typical "I don't know, dude" answer. Any help would be appritiated. Thanks in advance! MWHC Tuner
Try searching on Hondatech.com There are thousands there and all are very knowledgeable.... I'm not being mean or critical here, but why did you choose the set up besides price, if you didn't know how to install and wire what you bought? Typically you will have to get a cabin harness for the obd 0 civic and add wiring to it to accept vtec and knock sensors plus all the other pertinent sensors from the intake and crank... Contact this guy, Vince at xtuner.com, he is in Philly, explain your set up, and he will more than likely get you an adapter harness built (plug and play) and a modified ECU for around 300 for both that will assist you with your wiring issues..... here is Vince's number- (215) 504-1508 That would my first step, besides reading schematics off of H/T. Good Luck, I hope this helps....

justjeff
it's easy. get the hasport mount w/ hydro conversion kit and linkage. if your car is DPFI, convert it to MPFI and run obd0 to 1 conversion harness (run obd1, it's a lot better). very simple swap and very fast. I had a 99spec jdm itr motor in my ef hatch befoere..it was a fun little car before i sold it Jeff-
