John Graber
Well...you'd start in TTC** which would give you 4 points to TTB, 24 points to TTA, and 44 points to TTU, and jump to TTR if you have more than 500 awhp. Considering you car will probably get like a thousand points, unscientific guess wothout completing the form, I'd have to say TTU is in your future. Complete the form and see how it comes together, or ask your Regional TT Director for input. Oh, that's me. Also, please note that anything above 500awhp or 550f/rwhp will put you automatically in TTR. Clifton, that said, there are a bunch of cars running TTU and TTR for tha Regional and National Championships. Come on out and give it a run. John edited by GG--the car will only bump to TTR if it has more than 500 awhp, a sequential or dog-ring gearbox, or a tube frame conversion. Cars that begin life in the TTB or lower base classes can not jump to TTR by points Edited June 4, 2006 by Guest
bbyevo
Cliff, you gotta be in TTU, your list of mods is waaaay longer than mine, and mine is almost a TTU car already. Can't wait to see that thing next weekend though. What are you running for tires?
cliftching
The car will be on full tread Toyo RA-1 as it is one of the approved tires to use in the EVO shootout. Beaver Run will be a test event for us. So don't expect anything from me or the car. We will have fun though. I know for a fact that is has less than 500 hp at the wheel. See you guys at Beaver Run. Thanks for the info. Clift
Markus
Hey sounds like it might be a little bit different to drive than Sam's Civic!
cliftching
Oh yes, That it will be. I am busy this pass week helping prep both cars. Sam's will be ready so as the EVO. Should be a fun week. Suspension wise both cars are on P.I.C suspension so hopefully it will handle the same. Clift
mavisky
A well tuned gt35r on racegas should be well into the 500hp range, a good friend of mine made 591awhp with a very similar engine setup. What boost levels are you running? What kind of airflow numbers are you seeing? If you're seeing anything over 50 lb/min you're probably in the 500whp range. If this is a track only car and you don't want to run in TTR a gt30r may be a better choice for you, or at least keeping the boost low on the gt35, but the gt30 would give you a little better response than the gt35 provides. cliftching
I am just the driver. I don't know much about the car. It can't have over 400 WHP as I can hang with Shane's Turbo Miata but could not pass him. His car handles well in the corners since he only weighs 2000 lbs. We have 1300 lbs or more on him. I saw the dyno sheet and it shows 370 WHP. It is a daily driven car too. If we want to be competitive in TTU. We have to run different tires and lose some weight. The car is pretty impressive for it's first outting. Will see how it stacks up agains other EVO at the EVO Shootout at CMP. Clift
bbyevo
I think Keith said the turbo was a 20g evo 9 turbo as well, not the GT35r listed up there. The car did do very well though, especially considering the double duty it was put through. Good luck at CMP Clift!
cliftching
Greg I will keep you informed on how things go at CMP. I will get some pictures for you too. I have seen some of the EVOs being built for the shootout already and they are impressive. There are 2 class. Race and street. We are in the street class. Have fun at Mid Ohio.
