white_2kgt Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 I will be attending my First HPDE at summit point in June. I was wondering what the camping situation is there. Are there places to camp near the vehicles? I will have a race car and a Pickup truck with gear. I would prefer to camp near them both but near the truck will be fine. Also what is their policy on grills? I looked at the summit pt site but it leaves much to be desired, what can you expect from a WV web site j/k. Any information on what to expect on the camping aspect would be great. thanks, --chad Quote
bmw22 Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 You can paddock in the rear of the paddock in the grass under the trees. You can set up camp right there and open fires are not a problem. Quote
Crack Monkey Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 I usually camp in the paddock right next to my cars/gear. There is a extended paddock (gravel, not paved) that is shaded and works well too. Quote

Lees Z Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 The HPDE folks are located in the grassy areas close to the track. You can camp right nest to your gear if you get ther early enough to claim a good spot, or you can go to the back grassy area under the trees. Cooler, although if it rains, wetter. Quote
