What the rules or regulations regarding racing a full size truck or SUV such as a Ford Bronco or 1/2 ton truck?

As far as I know there isn't a class for trucks in NASA plus they don't allow them for HPDE either.

While not a full size truck or SUV, there were 2 trucks running in GTSU (I think), at hyperfest this past weekend.

The F150 Lightning is allowed in HPDE, but AFAIK there is no 'race' class for it, if one was so inclined they could start a spec truck racing class though haha.

There is a Pro-Truck Series, and yes there have been a couple of F-150's out in the school groups with us before. Let me do a little research into the CCR's and I will get back with you.

Not full sized, but certainly a truck:

a Spec truck class would be great if we are able to get the interest that we would need, I am curious to see of what it would take to get the ball rolling for something like this?

NASA Pro Truck is a cool class but everyone runs the same chassis, motor, tranny, tires, suspension, it is all a driver event, you do not see those classic rivalries that some of us like to see...

SCCA has a Improved Touring Truck class that is still being run today, pretty much a 4-cylinder production based truck class,

by the way, Banks Engineering in California has a diesel powered GMC Sierra 1/2 ton truck that they are racing at several West Coast NASA events...

there are some wicked SUVs at the Pike's Peak Hill Climb, I saw one year where there was a 800hp AWD Chevy Blazer, that thing was crazy fast and handled very well...

just my 2 cents...
