civicrr
Looks like National is reworking it. Page to be reposted soon. From the NASAproracing page, "Sorry, I put the Toyo release up there too soon. It may change slightly. Look for the real release later today. Members Ryan F.
Pretty amazing right? Toyo really stepped up with some serious support for NASA. We appreciate all the consideration they have given to the racers.
civicrr
This is huge the amount of dollars that can be won. This is, of course, on top of the discounts given for each tire purchased. A big "Thanks!" to Toyo & NASA!!!
Mr Hammond
I know there was an "agreement" of some sorts last year to run the Toyo's, just curious if there was any talk of a spec tire for HC this year? This is quite a good contingency sponcer deal.
civicrr
Check with your region's HC Group Leader. NorCal & SoCal do have the Toyo RA-1 as the spec tire.
JohnW
Check with your region's HC Group Leader. That is great news. Thanks Toyo! Mr. Milano the VA. region has a open tire rule. Frankly, This is what many of us wanted... tire makers interested in NASA and the HC. There is now big money being thrown at the H-C by these companies. If you race in the ECHC, no matter what brand tire, your most-likely going to win cash, tires or tire bucks if you place top three. Kumho, Hankook and Toyo have all completed programs and Hoosier is finishing their 04 budget. (hopefully going to squeeze us in!) Example: ECHC program with Kumho. 4 starters and 1st place gets $400.00 CASH 2nd place gets $200.00 3rd place gets $100.00 Kumho year end class champs........ $2000.00.............. CASH MONEY!!!! Thanks to all the Tire Companies!!!
jmeris
I called Ron at AIM yesterday regarding the Toyo tire discounts, and he says that the only tires that are discounted are the 205-50-15's. I asked about the other sizes posted/announced on the NASA website and he says that he hasn't heard those sizes were going to be discounted. He's expecting to talk to the Toyo marketing rep by the end of this week to clear this up. So I guess we'll see- Anyone know anything else? jmeris
civicrr
I am sure it is just a matter of communication. I posted the link as soon as it hit the National website.
kingrat
This is good news. Toyo is finally in line with the other Tire guys and I think we'll see folks use them. For the record VA,MW and SE Honda challenge are all on the open tire rule for 04. But we welcome Toyo's contingency program and NASA's efforts in this area. Alex. SPiFF
When can one buy Toyos for ECHC at the new pricing??? I am very torn between Kumho V710 and Toya RA-1 for next year with all the contigency $ flying around.
Members Ryan F.
Toyo indicated the new pricing will take effect March 1st. If you buy before then the $15.00 rebate for NASA folks will still be honored.
