74RotorTruck Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Hello, What adjustable front shocks are available for the 1st generation Camaro. Road racing valving not drag racing. And are they externally adjustable or does the whole shock need to be removed and piston pushed down and twisted ala old Koni yellow style? Thanks, Brad Quote
pederb Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Single, double or trippel adjustability? Then there is Bilstein who is an automaticly adjustable shock, with a lot of success in racing. Quote
pederb Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 http://www.lateral-dynamics.com/ chec with these guys, they build 1sr Gen Camaros. Quote
King Matt Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 QA1 makes single- and double-adjustable aluminum-body coilover shocks for First Gens too. I don't know anything about their valving other than that I have seen shock dyno data from the DA version and the rebound and compression rates are very linear and independently adjustable. Quote

PAI Racing Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I haven't found a good bolt-in race only option for the first gen Camaro. I guess it depends on what you are planning on doing with the car. There are option (QA1, Koni, etc.) for street appliations, but for racing the cars are so sensitive to proper set up (i.e. it is very easy to get it very wrong) that a real, high end remote resivoir shock is crucial to good performance. I run Penske remotes on my car ('67). I had Koni single adjust race shocks on it and the Penskes made all the difference in the world. Lateral Dynamics is a good place for assistance and Mark (the proprietor) is a great dude. They would be very helpful. Quote
