topley Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 How much fuel do you guys put in for the typical So Cal NASA race (say like willow next weekend?) Also is there some protocall for how to store jugs of fuel in the pit area? -jay Quote
944-Spec#94 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 I always tell everyone around me especially the fast guys race with a full tank of gas. When they ask why I keep the fuel at 1/3 tank for a race I tell them its because my car is not a good as theirs. I like to have at least 2 5-gal cans. Most of the time I run on very low fuel for qual. (light on at the end or close). Then throw in 5 gal for a normal race. Usally 2 full cans will get me through a day no concerns. Next day I can choose to fill up one or both cans. All depend on how much I had left over from the day before. I get 91 pump gas from someplace outside the track. Quote
Tim Comeau Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Yeah, a 30-35 minute race will use up about 4-5 gallons. Quote
