Changing tires within same category within same day?

Tire question for nationals.  Can one switch tire size/brand during the event if they are all within the same category? So from a 1.0 tire to a different 1.0 tire for example.  Or even a different tread width.  Since the form has place to put this info it seems to imply you cannot but I can’t see why this would matter as they take the same points so looking for clarification.

If the change would not change anything on the car classification form, you can do it.  But if it would change the modification factor for tire size or for tire type, then you cannot do it.

But that seems conflicting.  Tire brand and size are required fields on the classification form.  So are changes  not allowed at all to the form or are changes allowed (such as tire brand within same mod factor) as long as they don’t change the modification factor?

I see what you mean.  The entry of tire brand and size are "more" for data collection than technical inspection.  So, this would be one that I would run by your Race Director and Series Leader regionally.  For TT at the Champs, I will permit someone to use a different tire as long as it is in the same Mod Factor Category and same size category.  Just let us know what you are planning ahead of time so we can make sure that Tech is aware.
