weste46 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 (edited) "4) One means of aftermarket camber adjustability per wheel by replacement of a single suspension component..." I drive an E46, I would have to severely cut my strut towers to get my struts tilted in enough to get the camber I am looking to achieve. With this wording I could buy adjustable control arms to fix this issue, but adjustable front control arms are incredibly expensive. Could I run slightly wider arms that are non-adjustable to compensate? If I added ~20mm of length at the lower arm I could move the strut mount towards the center of the tower and would actually be able to reach my camber bolt adjustments again, as well as reach my camber goals. If the word "adjustability" became "adjustment" this would allow for more of this--say an arm that is slightly longer to use factory eccentrics, etc. Thank you, John Turner Edited August 7, 2024 by weste46 Quote
weste46 Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 (edited) Greg, I now see you specifically changed it from "adjustment" during the initial stages: There's nothing else I can change to get more camber, so it's either cutting my strut towers severely and not being able to reach my adjustment bolts, or buying ~$1400 front control arms. If only I had an E36 and could use shims! Edited August 7, 2024 by weste46 Quote
National Staff Greg G. Posted August 9, 2024 National Staff Posted August 9, 2024 Yeah, there were some specific examples that caused the change in wording of the final rule to "adjustability". Quote
