stealth430 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 (edited) Team Midnight and K2RD engineering recently finished their first set of prototype front and rear LCA's with proper spherical bearings. We will be testing these in the near future and might accept orders if the results turn out well... stealth430 Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 We can always do one-off specials, and the bearing parts are the same for EK, DC's, DA's. If you supply us with some EK arms, we can certainly do a set for you anytime. Based on our calculation, the bearings are oversized for a DC and the individual components have been proven on a one-off project for a USTCC EK already. Contact us and we can chat offline. Andrie Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Shoot, I thought I am the only one who has the front compliance monoball. Didn't bother to try to market it as it was meant for my advantage only. You guys ruin it for me!! Quote
stealth430 Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 Muahahahaha, we have other tricks up our sleeves that will ruin others also! FYI, we are about to patent...the CIRCLE! You will all have to pay a royalty everytime you use the letter "O" Quote
jmeris Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I want some! I want some!! I'll need a couple sets for the DC Teg and a set for an EK civic.-which I can get you some control arms for who do I get in touch with? You, warren, etc? jmeris Honda Challenge H1 Quote
stealth430 Posted November 15, 2006 Author Posted November 15, 2006 The results are in! We tested the arms at sears, thunderhill (2 sprints and 1 enduro) and even ran them on a SWC car! No signs of failure or wear, and we will continue to monitor the bearings as we put more miles on them. Compare to stock bushing equiped arms, the steering and chassis feedback is dramatically improved while the steering input delay is almost nil. The steering effort is definitely higher, but those with power steering won't noticed this (we don't have PS). The rear felt more connected during transition, providing more confidence on high speed corners. This upgrade is not recommended for street cars due to the increased vibration and shock from the lack of compliance. We will start a production run on these arms very soon, and we are taking early orders at $825 per set. The bearings will be replaceable and we will have those in stock. As with all custom parts, we require a 20% deposit. Please feel free to PM me with questions. Thank you and will be seeing some of you at the 25! Ekasey Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Why are there 2" long tig beads on either side of the bearing? Quote
stealth430 Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 The TIG beads are on the precision machined cup that the bearings are pressed into. The machined cups are made to press into the stock arms, but the tolerance on the stock arms are not tight from arm to arm because rubber bushing doesn't call out for tight tolerance. The weld adds to the press fit will make sure the cups don't move around. Quote
