Uh..........I don't get it.........

Steve, are you gone? Or just want to build another car?

Or?

I'm here. I just got to move this thing OUT!!! It was just a toy to keep me busy between Datsun projects and now there are two and I just don't have room for this many race cars!!! Nothing personal--it was a blast to build and really fun to drive but just not where my heart is. Until I find that hot trust-fund baby with a 10-car garage (female preferred), I just have to prioritize.

I'm not going anywhere. Just helping a friend build a new race car. Bill has been driving my car in DE and got hooked. He is a bit lonely in vintage and is looking forward to an affordable fun car with lots of competition. A friend who follows the salvage auctions told me about the car and we got it for a steal. All the plastic and rubber under the hood was melted but everything else seems OK. May need to do some wiring harness repair but everything on the firewall and under the engine shows no apparent damage.

My friend is keeping his eye out for salvage 944's (I have another street car friend who needs a tranny). Guys let me know if you need anything as we can sometimes get some really cheap deals. Most are wrecks but occasionally a stolen car recovery shows up. The salvage car which was in pretty good shape except for under the hood cost us about $800.

Am suffering from Porsche wallet pressure as my '89 turbo decided to self-destuct the clutch and waterpump simultaneously. Combined with the leaky oilpan gasket and 160K miles (doing the rod bearings), I'm having to postpone some work on my race car. We still have two races to go and I'm planning on holding or improving my season position!

Steve,

I think Tim was refering to Steve McConnell.

Sorry to hear about the 89. Tough luck.

I have an early NA gearbox with long 5th from my gray 83 for sale.

PM me if you think your friend could use it.

Oops!

Saw the notice about a new message and thought this was the car build thread. My mistake. Thanks for the offer Joe, I will talk to you about the tranny. I think I also owe you a shift linkage that we stole off it the event before last.
