So what's the report there? Who attended? Who ran the enduro? Anybody? Anybody?

Weekend's Best Lap Weitze 2:09:037 in Sunday's race.

I got to fill out my first contact sheet after Saturday's race (just deemed a racing incident, anyone have a left front fender for cheap?) and I only made it to 4 laps on Sunday after having a pretty huge off in the esses. Took me 2 days to learn the track though... Sat I went from over 2:20 to 2:17, and Sunday got that down to 2:12

Fun time though!

Good job Mikael taking the win both days after starting at the back of the pack!

Also "Mad Props" to Mikael for shaking down my car in the first practice of Sunday and letting me try a well sorted 944 for a couple of laps. The speed at which he left me behind while driving my car gave me the confidence to take those 5 seconds off my previous day.

What happened to Tim? Did he run the enduro only?

Weitze had a sway bar break on Saturday so his lap times aren't as fast as he normally is. I think Saturday morning he ran a 2:08 before it broke. Nice weather this weekend, or at least as good as Buttonwillow gets.

Tim wasn't there and no 944's did the enduro.

Mikael also did a 2:08.xx on Sunday's second practice in Jim Richmonds car.

Great fun at Buttonwillow, good group of guys as always.

Jay, good job improving your lap times. Your car felt great, maybe just a little soft setup for my taste but very neutral handling. The power is there and if you shave some weight, you definitely have a winning car.

Thank you Jim R. for helping me weld my header back to my exhaust, the camraderie in the group is A+.

I drove Jims car in the 2nd practice stint Sunday morning (Yes, We had 2 practice sessions both Sat and Sun, thank you NASA)

and the car is quick and pretty neutral but as we said, just a little nervous at turn in. A few tweaks in ride height and suspension set up and we have another front running car.

A very muddy runoff area all around the track due to rain on Friday made everyone hold back a click.

Kudos to NASA who once again put on a very professional event that ran as good as it gets.

It was a fun weekend. Running BW counter clockwise for the first time was a learning experience. Tom and I practiced some Baja off road training during the Saturday race. Jay and I continued the tradition on Sunday.

Jay picked up his first battle scar in turn one. The old saying about putting your nose where it does not belong seems to apply. Johnny Pag got his horsey car wacked when he spun in the same turn during the enduro.

Thanks to Mikael for giving me pointers on the track and driving my car during practice. He turned a 3 second faster time than I did so I know that my problem is behind the wheel rather than under the hood.

I used one of Mikael's pointers to make an inside pass in the hairpin during the Sunday race. Then I looped it in the same corner the next lap, go figure!

Good group at NASA and a well run event.

That wasn't off road racing- all those other guys just don't know where the real track is!

I'm really glad all you 944 spec guys had a great time!

It sounds like the regular drivers were in perfect 944 spec class form in their acts of generosity and helpfulness. Nice to be associated with this class.

I was dying here in San Diego, wishing I were racing with you guys.

I had planned to go up to BW, but things didn't work out. First, the trailer I'm borrowing was suddenly "borrowed" back, unannounced on Thursday morning! I scrambled to find another and Bill Addy was there for me. So I went back to work on my customers car. The car I'm currently working on is owned by Rob Hass. He bought the first Anderson Motorworks # 69 car and wanted to get it street legal again so he could drive it to events, sans trailer and truck. The car was alot more work than first forecast, but we're doing great things on it and it should be back active in local PCA and NASA HPDE events very soon. Rob is very enthused about getting the car to the track after having rented my cars a couple times! This is a complete 944 spec racer and it hasn't seen the track in several years!

I HATE THAT! A complete car just sitting there!

But we're going to fix that....

Anyway, The goal was to get his white car ready for the PCA Performance Driving School last weekend. When it became readily apparent that that wasn't going to happen, I gave him the use of my car for the school. I had to stick around and monitor the cars needs and I got in some great PR for the class while instructing this group of new drivers. It sucks that I couldn't go racing with you guys, but at the same time, I knew that this was an act that would get Rob Hass one step closer to not only joining us, but being a more competitive driver sooner.

Also, sorry that you guys didn't get full TOYO TIRES dollars.
