Thawley Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Honda make two different F-series engines: • the single cam, sister engine to the H-series which came in base model Accords & Preludes • and the twin cam F-series (which shares parts with the K-series) that came in the S2000s According to the H1 weights below, there is no distinction between the two and only the S2000 engine is classed: All Honda/Acura All D-series Single Cam 1950 All Honda/Acura All B16-series Must use B16 Crank 2100 All Honda/Acura All B18, B20, others not listed 2250 All Honda/Acura All K20 & H series See sec. 9.3.1(h) 2400 All Honda/Acura All K24 See sec. 9.3.1(h) 2450 All Honda/Acura All F/C- series 2.0 Liter 2700 All Honda/Acura All F/C- series 2.2 Liter 2800 Can I please have an official ruling that the single-cam F-motor falls under the "others not listed" which run at a weight of 2250... Thanks in advance. Thawley EDIT: Turns out there's also a twin cam F20B Accord engine. I guess I'd also wonder if that falls under the "others not listed" clause... Quote
Karl Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 while that would be nice, I can easily make a h22 crank, rod, piston, and head fit my f22a1 block. I think that means it needs the same weight as the H22 at 2400. We just need to designate the s2000 motor at the higher weight. Quote
civicrr Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 IIRC, it was our intention that those engines would fall under 'others not listed'. Quote
Thawley Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 IIRC, it was our intention that those engines would fall under 'others not listed'. That's all I needed to hear. Thanks Mike. Thawley -- Now with more whoop-ass Quote
civicrr Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 IIRC, it was our intention that those engines would fall under 'others not listed'. I believe we thought that the F/C designation would be 'known' as the S2K motors. While anything is possible, it would be very, very hard to drop S2K motor in another Honda/Acura. Quote
Thawley Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 While anything is possible, it would be very, very hard to drop S2K motor in another Honda/Acura. Um, yeah. Hard to imagine there being much advantage to building a RWD, 2700lb. S2000 powered CRX... Quote

Thawley Posted October 18, 2006 Author Posted October 18, 2006 Hey, quit jackin' my thread with rear-drive CRX crap. I just wanted the officials to confirm the F-22 and F-23 get to run at 2250... Quote
Ekasey Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Thawley to the rescue; with another lame motor swap Quote
