How many sets of number that I need for my car ? one or two? Any good recommended resource to buy the magnetic number ? any size for the number requirement or any suggestion for the size ?

Thanks

First off welcome to the world of HPDE, but we warned it can be addictive!

You will need two sets of numbers for the passenger and drivers side of the car. I believe the NASA rule book states the numbers should be 10" high and in a contrasting color from the car so they can be seen.

Personally I like my numbers on one big magnet that is placed on the car. I have found that individual magnetic numbers fall of the car easier than one large plaque.

I designed a rally like logo plaque to put my number on the car and with a square foot of magent touching the car they stay on rock solid. The company that did my plaques from my artwork charged me $100 even but I know some online companies sell magnetic numbers for less than that.

The whole kit I had made up so I can switch around numbers if something is taken.

That's about it for the size, the contrast and number of, but I buy the 'Contact Shelf Paper' at Wally - Mart for 3 or 4 bux a roll. There is a graph on the back so you can cut out nice clean numbers. They'll stay on all season, rain or shine.

IMPORTANT: Clean (and wax) the area on your car and place the numbers on, once it has been confirmed that you can run that number.

I have a plotter and cutter and do all my own numbers.

Can do magnetic as well.

Nothing fancy but good pricing

You can email me at [email protected]

Thanks

one thing with magnets is to make sure theres an angled cut such that wind has trouble getting behind them.... and even then, you may want to think about taping the leading edges to the car unless you're using some really pimpy magnetic material
