Could I run a Factory Five Daytona Coupe in AI?

Assuming it could make the minumum weight, and be within the 9.5/1, wouldn't it be legal in AI?

Tehcnically it is an American car built after 1960, and the divetrain would be Mustang.

What is the defining criteria between the cars? Is it the lack of a back seat? What about in AI-V? Thanks

Riddle me this:

Look at the first page of the AI rules, section 4b.

Go to the FFR website and look up the wheelbase of a Daytona coupe.

Then look at section 4h to see why it doesn't matter anyway.

Damn, I thought it would be a cool car to run.

I'm still wondering about a Trailblazer SS. Even though that suggestion was a joke, I'm not sure why one could not be legal in the class. It meets all the criteria of Sec. 4: Front engine, V-8, solid rear axle, etc., and I'm sure the wheelbase is over 100 inches. One sticking point could be the use of the word "Sedan" but the automakers have used that term liberally over the years. Historically the only two-door cars that were called sedans had a fixed post between two roll-down windows, which Mustangs and Camaros don't, and one could argue that SUVs are the modern "family sedan" anyway. I think one would be cool to run in AI. Of course, that means I think it would be cool for someone ELSE to do it.

If you can race an Impala SS why couldn't you race a Trailblazer SS?

Just to set the record straight I won't be running mine in AI.
