We'll bring the door prizes, you guys bring the beer.

I told Tim a little while after our Infineon event that we will NOT run Thunderhill in Nov., instead we will run with the SoCal group for the Nov. 11-12 Buttonwillow event.

I'll let Tim do the roll call.

Hey Tim,

I'm in, #89.

Greg Brandeau #43 is in.

Bill Pennock doesn't know yet if he can get out of a business meeting back east.

We might have a couple Norcal 944 guys come down and do HPDE.

btw- we want you there with a 944.

Thanks, Ken...

It'll be great to see you guys again.

1. Tim Comeau (with or without a 944!)

2. Sean Steele ( He dusted his car off, slapped a dealer license plate on it, and won the local Autocross yesterday over Chuck Sharp by 5/100ths! I asked his company's co-owner AND his girlfriend right in front of him if he could please come to the event at Buttonwillow....they both said yes. The trailer is being fixed right now. No more excuses, Sean.

3. Rob Hass? His car should be out of my garage and ready soon!

4. Ken Huey

5. Greg Brandeau

I'm going to Tiajuana on friday, but I'm going to try to make it out to spectate on of the days. I originally planned on bringing a car for HPDE, but I spent the money on getting my 924S ready, so you can't be too mad at me

door prizes collected so far: (I'm still expecting more)

* 10x25 binoculars/digital camera.

* phone, plain paper fax/copier.

* motorola walkie talkies (pair)

* bestbuy gift cards ($50).

* pro quality poker chip set in a beautiful case.

* smith&wesson knife.

* 997 carrera convertable 1/18 scale model.

To celebrate the CARS dvd release weekend, I'm giving out ten copies of the CARS dvd with a authentic CARS movie poster in addition to the door prizes. i.e.- You'll get a CARS dvd & poster and still be eligible for the door prizes.

This is the last NASA California race for the year (unless you're doing the 25 hours of Thunderhill) and I'm not taking any gifts home. If I have more prizes than racers I'll start passing them out to folks on this list doing HPDE.

I'm still working on getting more San Diego locals to climb the ladder to NASA racing.....

Who else is going?

Any recommendations for a good motel to stay at in Buttonwillow?

Posted

Ken, There are several. The cheapest is the Homeland Inn. There's a motel 6 a super 8, etc. The NASA host hotel is down the street . But I can't remember the name right now. Anybody else got that?

Might be on the NASA registration site?

Posted

Ok!

So far we have 3 drivers from NASA NorCal and one SCCA driver from the Phoenix Group. We have Johnny Pag, Mikael Weitze, and myself representing the SoCal Group.

***I love to see this mixing of drivers from the different groups!***

There's got to be others going racing or getting seat time in the HPDE groups....sound off guys.

Hey Guys,

I'll be there running the Red Bull 170 in the HPDE. Given that I have some track experience (not in this car), I was allowed to register in HPDE3 since 1 & 2 were full. I'll move down / up as necessary.

I'm looking forward to getting faces to the names here

Treat taylor good guys!! I gave you all high praises!!

I WILL be there but running with the BMW Club in GTS3 with my 911. My 944, car #318 is still waiting to have motor put back in. Wish I could run with guys, especially knowing there will be gifts!!!

BTW....the silver car (no # yet) is going to get a quickie paint job and couple other items attended to and might have my 65 year old dad doing some outings in it. Still up for sale, but it seems like a lot of tire kicking and unsure people. The price is rock bottom right now and after I do work on it will go up...

Tim (or anyone else),

If there is any way that I could get my hands on a 944 spec car for this weekend...I would love to run with you guys...at least in the races.

I just read the schedule and the GTS cars (my 911) are running with the BMW club in group c.

I know it's last minute, but I would be able to pay for all expenses PLUS use my wheels if it's an early car.

thanks,

Jason

I'm looking forward to the weekend and seeing/meeting you guys!

I hope you can find a 944spec car to race Jason but even with a 911 I counted in door prizes for you and Taylor Price.

Tom Spargo, where are you buddy?, will you be able to make it?

Chris (genikz), if you're going to BW to spectate and can help take pictures with my camera, I got a CARS dvd and poster for you.

Greg & I will make it to BW friday afternoon for a half-day test day and to save some spaces so we can park together.

See you guys there!

Cool, thanks Ken. I can't do saturday at this point, but I'm shooting for sunday. If I do make it, I'll find you guys first thing.

Another fun weekend!

It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Tim's writing the race report and will be available on the 944spec.org website when he's done along with the photo album.

Here a picture from our start on sunday.

From the sessions and races I was able to watch, you guys all looked really good. Mikael...smokin' times, congrats!

It was cool to meet some of the new guys and Ken made me a hero last night with the kids....goodies from PIXAR!!!

Can you do any better than CARS Movie stuff for 3 and 6 year old boys?

I HAVE to get my 944 going again AND it looks like there are a couple of interested parties in my other 944 that I have for sale.

I think my dad is going to start doing HPDE and STS events with my 944 as he now lives in So Cal full time. He has never driven on a track, but was the parking lot donut king where I grew up (Michigan)

Sorry I couldn't make it out Ken to shoot some pictures for you guys. I was down for the count for a few days after seafood in Tiajuana.

Hey Chris,

Not a problem. We'll meet next time.

Taylor Price's dad (Dean) was kind enough to help us take pictures.
