jaje Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'm trying to figure out what backspacing I need - as I'm going to buy some Diamond Racing spun steel wheels. They are strong and light and cheap ($80 a wheel). They are asking for backspacing (I'm looking at 13x7 wheels) and I need something in the line of a +35mm - +38mm offset. I've never ordered wheels like this so need a little background. Thanks. Quote
jaje Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 I was playing with a stock Honda OEM 13 x 5" wheel and it has a 40mm offset. I measured backspacing at 4 1/2" which is pretty big. Should I duplicate that for a 13 x 7 wheel? Quote
mc-integra111 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I measured backspacing at 4 1/2" which is pretty big. FYI, I have a 90 Integra for track use with 2 rim sets. I have a 4.8" backspacing on my 15x6.5 wheels and a 4.5" backspacing on my 14x6" rims. Quote
jaje Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 thanks for the offer...I need to get 13" wheels as the car needs all it can help to accelerate...14" or bigger wheels will probably do much more harm than good and make some tire rubbing problems as it is only ~ 4" off the ground Quote
mc-integra111 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Sorry, I guess I didn't read my response. I wasn't offering the wheels as an alternative (I need them ). I just wanted to let you know about what kind of backspacing another Honda/Acura application has. As you can tell, that 4.5" backspacing is not that big or unusual. Most Honda applications use quite a bit of backspacing. Quote
BrianZ Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 whats with all the SAE measurements on a metric car ? Quote
jaje Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 whats with all the SAE measurements on a metric car ?diamond racing only takes orders with backspacing (easier to measure for them) Quote
loudes13 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 i recall 4" as the magic # for 4 bolt honda's. My CRX's used 4" once I started getting big rims. Guys on honda-tech would know for your specific model. Many autox honda's are runing 13x8 to 13x10! Quote
jaje Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 H5 cars can only run a max 7" wide rim...if I have to slightly roll the fenders then that's fine. Quote

Chris F Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 jage, pgibbs, Have you considered your tire options? (I almost mis-typed thad "dire options"... whoops!) Toyo RA1's come in 185/60 R13 and 205/60 R13. You might be better off with a 225/50 R14 and a shorter final drive. Good luck (4 months later! hahaha) Quote
