basically i wanna know where to start, i have a car, actually 2 that i could start building i just wanna know what it would take to start racing in the series. I've been reading the rules and stuff but i would just like to know what it takes to actually participate and race. Any help at all would help, i live in upstate Syracuse, NY so i would be participating in the east coast, thanks in advance.

Do I have to be a NASA member to compete in Honda Challenge?

Do I need a special license?

Yes, a NASA competition license is required to participate in the series. See the licensing page for details on how to obtain a NASA racing license.

What kind of safety equipment do I need?

Roll cage, harness, fire extinguisher, SA helmet, window net, driver suit, and kill switch. Details can be found in the NASA Club Code and Regulations.

What car(s) are you planning on building? You've probably already heard this, but it typically makes more sense to buy someone else's already built racecar than build one yourself from a money and time perspective.

 

Have you done any HPDEs? If not, start there and work your way into wheel-to-wheel racing.
