roadracetransam Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I just read a tread in the HPDE forum that got me thinking. I have a good friend his name is Mr. Blasst, he weights #180. Can we take a passenger and have them sit in the back seat? Or would 'Mr. Blasst' be an unfair advantage sitting in the right rear? For weight calculation purposes can we add Mr. Blast's weight to the car, without being hit with points, adding blast? Quote
Ultimate Altima Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I don't think that he can sit in the backseat unless the window goes ALLway down. Just have him push the front seat all the way back. I'm not sure if you can factor him into the vehicle weight. P.S. When I road with my dad at Road America in October, I was up front but I had the seat all the way back. Quote
John Graber Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 If we were in Germany the passenger could ride in the back, but since we're in the US he'd have to be in front. Drivers and passengers are out of the car when calculating curb weight in TT. Quote
subachad Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 If you have a 2 door and the car catches fire... I don't think I'd want to be in the backseat. Also, if you have a caged or a car with a bar, the backseat can no longer be safely used anyway depending on the cage or bar design. In RallyX however, they usually have events where people rent a 4dr car and they all ride in the car during the events and all get to drive. It's quite funny watching a Ford 500 or something with 4 poeple in helmets rocking around a lake bed Quote
