Sterling Doc Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Well it looks like my 924S project is going to be sold to my neighbor, and I'm going to pick up a fully prepared '88 944. We'd like to do some events together, and I was wondering if we could share some spares - brake pads, rotors, etc. I know the A-arms are different, but both use late offset wheels, correct? Quote
944-Spec#94 Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Alot of the parts are the same. In fact most spares will be the same for both cars. The biggest difference is in the suspension parts. Wheels are the same however. Quote
Tim Comeau Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Calipers are different on the 83 model. All others are the same. Pads same. Rotors are different on the ABS cars and I'm not sure if they'll swap right over to the 924S because I believe the 924S has the early strut and steering knuckle, but has the ABS hub. The 924S front suspension (left) is also unique in that it has an opening near the center to accomodate the mechanical speedo cable. Wheels are 52.3 for the 924S and the 87-88 944. Front control arms are visibly different. Quote
