rd7839 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Now that I've got the switch mounted(I took out the driver's side windshield washer nozzle and mounted it there), wiring it is my next hurdle. The hot lead from the battery is easy enough, but which wires from the alternator, and where are they, do I need next? Also, what is the best way to mount the resistor? Where do the other, smaller leads from the positive terminal of the battery go? Thanks in advance! Quote
Tim Comeau Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Ron, It's important that you include the COIL in the wiring. There must be a drawing on line somewhere. I've started using a product called, "Power Switch" in the cars I build. It's electronic in activation so there's no key to wear out, lose, or break. Push-pull switch knob turns it on ,off. Quote
comatb Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Tim, do you have a link or other information on this 'Power switch'. Thanks Quote
Tim Comeau Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Certainly. Go to http://www.batterycutoff.com or call Scott Kuhne at 310.428.4806 cell. If you pronounce his German last name correctly, you might even get a better price. It's a good product. Quote
comatb Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Thanks Tim. Where are you mounting the switch and why? Bill Quote
Tim Comeau Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I mounted it close to the battery to keep the wires short. I ran the two small wires for the switch over to the drivers side where the switch is mounted in the windshield washer nozzle hole. Quote
