3" ground clearance rule

Where is this rule?

If this is true I remember a bunch of cars that were at Mid Ohio and at VIR in the fall that don't stand a chance of passing this.

The sentence in 6.1 you're looking at refers to the height of the fixture used to measure track width and not ride height of the car itself. The fixture would ideally be flat in the middle and then have the 3 inch height on the outside edges. Clear?

That's not ground clearance. They are saying that the tread width measurement will be taken at 3" from the ground.

If you look at the figure below, imagine that it's 72.25" wide and 3" tall.

John-

No need. Steve and I just got off the phone and he's aware of what is going on. This was not worded correctly and will be addressed in the next draft of the rules.

John, you do not need to worry to much about ground clearance. You passed my butt plenty of times.

Are you going to be able to make the Mitty at Road Atlanta, May 1 and 2?

Do not make me bring the 5 gallon paint bucket.........................
