924sman
Next weekend and will be wearing a "Black Ribbon" in honor of the late Dave Pistole. The new corner is uphill after a short left turn and the Apex is at the top. Not a place for a 911 to LIFT at! HPT put the wall right at the top and you see nothing but SKY till you reach the top and realize you need to turn right. A ton of GRIP going into the top then the car unweights at the top and turning the car right at the same time. My approach is going into it slower then faster out and respect the wall as I do it! This is what is called "giving up a corner" for those learning the ropes now. But this is all at "face value" and will give a posting on the real experience at the new corner at Heartland.......hopefully! Dal
Tim Comeau
Dallas, who was Dave Pistole?
944-Spec#94
Tim, Dave Pistole was a 911 club race driver that lost his life in crash just receintly at heartland park. Some details are on Rennlist under the racer forum. I think it was during a SCCA event.
