Doug & Robin Hillman for VFC Engineering have committed to putting up $400 per weekend for contingecy money at Midwest events next year. This is straight cash, not discounts/certificates/coupons, for Spec class cars. We only need 4 cars next year at any event to make this happen.

Doug is also looking to build cars to suit - Spec, Cup, or SuperCup. He will also assist you in any parts of your own build that you need help in (e.g. custom cage, etc.). Doug will be at the NASA Midwest events for the rest of this year, and next year. He is also avaiable for trackside support. Big thanks to Doug & Robin of VFC for having faith in a fledgling (but rapidly growing) program.

Thanks to the hard work of up and coming racer Ray Freundt, and the gernosity of Kraig "Doc" Bryan at Doc's Upholstery in Belvedire, IL Midwest 944 spec has another $400 of contingency money *per weekend* to help get more 944's out racing!. Doc (no relation to me "Sterling Doc" ) has a full service upholstery shop near Rockford, IL that does everything from antique furniture to cars to airplanes. If you want to make your tow vehicle a "shag van" or do something more tasteful, he's your man. "Doc" enjoys an excellent reputation in this area. Please patronize him with your upholstery needs! http://www.Docsupholstery.com

Let me add this up for you guys who are on the fence, or are doing HPDE's and think racing will cost you too much.

Doug & Robyn Hillman for VFC Engineering http://www.VFC-Engineering.com - $400 per weekend

Kraig "Doc" Bryan of Doc's upholstery http://www.Docsupholstery.com - $400 per weekend

Toyo Tires - $800 in available "Toyo Bucks" per weekend

*and* $1750 Toyo bucks avaible for the season ending regional championship if we get 5 cars to 8 races

"Darty Dave" for Dart Auto http://www.dartauto.com $200 "Darty Dollars" towards new & used Porsche Parts

If we have 11 races next year (13+ is more likely), we will have

$4,400 CASH

$6,150 Toyo Bucks

$1,100 Darty Dollars

$11,650 in Cash and prizes, and more to come.

If you get in the game early, you can podium with a car that is near stock - so get that cage in the car, and come out and have some fun. Donor 944's can be had for $2K or less, turn key "new" racecars for 12-14K, fully developed. Guys have built their own cars to a compettitve level for under 8K. This is cheap, and equal Porsche racing at it's finest, and now with CASH to sweeten the deal! Let's Race!

944 Spec is open to '83-'88 944's (8V N/A) '87-'88 924S models

All 924's, 944's (including the '89-91, 16V & Turbo models), 968's, and 928's may run NASA's Cup & Supercup classes - details here: http://44cup.com

For the Cup & Supercup guys, there are Hankook bucks available, and more to come (stay tuned)

Eric this is great news but if I read your message right wouldn't there be $8800 in cash. The 2 $400 per weekend sponsors times 11 weekends? Which of course makes it an even better program. Great job guys you should all be commended!! A top notch driver could actually race for free!!

I wish we had 11 weekends, but the Midwest region is small (but growing) - we had 5 weekends, plus a Monday single day race this year. I expect we will have more next year as we grow, so that number could certainly grow.

Eric, Bravo! I need to calculate the mileage from Burlington, Ontario and see if or how many of your event I might be able to make next year. See you at the Nationals.

Would be great to have you. Contingencies might pay for gas, anyway. BTW, I updated your driver profile in the 944 SPEC site (now I just need to fix my own )

GREAT JOB MIDWEST !

I have to thank my racers, who have gone out to make things happen for the series.

*It's not just the series director's job to get contingencies/sponsors*

Now I just need to work on some fun gimmics like the 944/CMC race, and the Miller event. Genius director stuff, that!

Eric,

Congratulations again to you, Ray and everyone involved to make this happen!

Ken, you've been the inspiration for working on the cash contingencies - I'm looking forward to seeing this grow next year - the groundwork is being laid down now.
