TheWho
Why won't Porsche go after the big prize?
PeanutinCA
Too busy fixing their early model 996's?
944-Spec#94
Too busy building SUV's. Hey racing costs money. Since the company is run by bean counters they say it does not add up. Heard they won't let even private entrants race the Carrera GT. Supposedly if you DO try it you will be on their "black list". But think of it this way... ... Why is Audi so strong! VW money and Porsche race engineers. A couple years back I remembe them talking about the Porsche factory guy in Audi pits at the 24 hrs of LeMans. What was he doing there? Could it be overseeing Audi badged Porsche? Hmm.... Don't forget that the Audi Lemans project started when a Porsche family memeber was at the helm. Heck it was under that Porsche family member that Porsche entered the glory days or Sports car racing with 906 that over only a few years grew into the 917 program. Ferdindad Piech! Tell me that the R8 is not really a Porsche!
