PeanutinCA Posted June 21, 2004 Share Posted June 21, 2004 The mellow yellow went on a little diet today. Took out the wiring for the power doors/windows. Plus the horn and AC RESISTORS. All in all I pulled out another 10-12 pounds. I am swapping my muffler to a glass pack because the muffler I have sounds horrible inside the car. That's about another 10 pounds apparently? Does anyone know anything about sunroof weights? My newer cars sunroof seems heavier/more solid than the roof on my older (Jason's) car? They were both electric? At least I think? Certainly the old car had the motor in the back? Unless they swapped it to a manual roof? Because I think the latches were different from memory? But I found this on Rennlist?; The stock panels are indeed fiberglass and weights are: Panel for power sunroof, without hardware or liner - 15.5 Panel for manual sunroof, without hardware or liner - 10.5 They are interchangable as long as you use the proper manual roof latches or some other means of securing the panel.
