Jan in Omaha
Greetings, I've never run Hankook R compound tires and I am trying to get a feel for what the differences are in their compounds. This would be for the older Ventus Z211 tire and between C-30 (hard), C-50 (medium), and C-70 (soft) compounds. I've run Kumho Victoracer for the last 5-6 years on my Civic and Neon and I am wondering how each compound would compare. Thanks for any input. Spectator Racing
The C70's are comparable to a Hoosier A6, the C50's like an R6. Back to back tests on the same day with the same car (and driver) between the C50 and C70 compounds revealed about 1 second difference in lap times (softer was faster, of course). Ken Smith won TTA at 2007 Nationals with C70's.
