crazy_ugly_coyote
So if my car is a track only car, would there be any need to keep my dust shields (on the brakes)? They are proving to be a pain when it comes to working on it.

Renntag
There are a couple ways to interpret the original post. Are you referring to the dust cover over your hub? or the backing plate behind your rotor? As to the hub dust cover, I have seen many cars with out this cover installed. As to the rotor backing plate, it is prefered to make this a bolt on unit such that it may be easily removed for servicing the brakes. It is also paramount to duct cooling air to the brakes as mentioned previously. Best of luck.
